Hendricks Regional Health Acquires Land for New Emergency Center

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Hendricks Regional Health announced the purchase of vacant farmland for the location of its new emergency room and outpatient center on the eastern side of Brownsburg. The facility, which is estimated to cost $48 million, will be a 100,000-square-foot retail health care center, according to a statement from Hendricks Regional Health.

The new emergency room will help address the growing need for medical care in northern Hendricks County and the surrounding area. The new building will include an emergency room and immediate care center, laboratory and radiology services, a comprehensive women’s care center, physical rehabilitation areas, physician offices, a retail pharmacy, specialty clinic and additional retail space, according to Inside Indiana Business. The health system wants its facility to be easier to access and wants it to provide a variety of services closer to nearby residents.

“Our focus at the new center will be on ease of access with more emphasis on the continuum of care for families, in particular for women, as well as providing care for emergent services,” said Gary Everling, Hendricks Regional Health vice president and chief strategy officer, in a statement.

The existing Hendricks Regional Health medical office building on the south side of Brownsburg will remain open to serve the community on the southern edge of Brownsburg, and the new facility will provide access to health care for the northern side of the Brownsburg community, according to Hendricks Regional Health. The new facility is also estimated to create more than 110 jobs.

“The timing is right to more fully enhance our services in this area and invest in a significant project that will benefit the community. We value the support that we have received from town officials and look forward to bringing this project to fruition,” said Kevin Speer, Hendricks Regional Health president and CEO, in a statement.

In addition to the new retail health care center opening in eastern Brownsburg, Hendricks Regional Health will also open an immediate Care location on May 2.
