Work Begins on Calif. Prison Medical Facility


A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s new Health Care Facility in San Joaquin County, Calif. 

CHCF-Stockton will be built on the site of the 400-acre state-owned Northern California Youth Correctional Center. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were J. Clark Kelso, Receiver, California Prison Healthcare Services; Chris Meyer, Senior Chief, California Facility, Planning, Construction and Management; State Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim), Matthew L. Cate, Secretary, CDCR; State Senator Lois Wolk (D-Davis), and Michael Meredith, Project Director, CDCR.
